Val's View: What to Wear for Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is a special occasion to celebrate love and affection. It deserves some attention, so this February 14, add a little romance to your day. Whether you're planning a fancy dinner out, a casual lunch date, or even a cozy night in, choosing a nice outfit can make you feel confident and stylish. Making an effort to look put-together helps get you in the mood to give and receive adoration.

Dinner Date with Your Mate

Consider dressing up in an elegant outfit that shows off your personal style. A classic little black dress with a sleek kitten heel and a pearl necklace works perfectly. Think Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” This Anthony’s Resort Wear dress is a great way to pull off the trifecta of cool, chic, and comfy. Timeless and sophisticated doesn't have to be complicated. A french manicure will complement this look nicely, alongside a red lip to bring that pop of color.

Casual Afternoon Outing

A daytime picnic or a relaxed brunch calls for a more laid-back ensemble. A floral dress in a soft color is great for such an occasion. This Anthony’s Resort Wear dress is an easy, breezy option that is ladylike but not too serious. You can accessorize with some delicate jewelry and a floral hair tie for a playful touch. A great top and pull-on pant can feel functional yet still feminine. This knit top by Links looks great with a crisp white pant by Coconut Row for a stroll in the park with your significant other.

Cozy Night In

Embrace comfort while still looking charming in a cozy knit Avalin sweater and leggings by Jess and Jane. Making a nice playlist sets the tone for an evening with your significant other. Relaxed vibes can be sweet too. Soft textures and colors impart warm and fuzzy feelings. Light some candles and wear a special scent to elevate the mood.

Confidence is Contagious

Your attire, whether glamorous or casual, makes a statement of how you want to celebrate yourself and your loved ones. If you happen to be single and ready to mingle, dress so you invite openness without intimidating others. The important thing is to feel love and share it with the special people in your life.
