As someone with a larger bust, it can be challenging for me to find flattering, well-fitting clothes. Over the years, I have learned to adjust my wardrobe as my size has fluctuated, and I continue to enjoy dressing to suit my figure.
Style evolves and trends come and go, but you can’t force someone else's taste to fit your body. You can express your personality and enhance your silhouette with confidence, it just takes a little knowledge of the cuts that let you show off what you're working with while staying polished.
Here are a few tips for keeping it all together and smooth without sacrificing comfort.
1. Invest in great undergarments. Bras, tanks, and even nipple covers are the secret to complement whatever you step out in. Just be sure to get the proper size to avoid spillage and you will be surprised by how much better clothing looks.
2. Choose necklines to be in proportion with your body and overall look. Scoop neck, v-neck, and square neck styles are nice options. Twist front, halter, wrap, and cowl necks look great on bustier ladies. Adjustable straps are a plus for accommodating fit.
3. To minimize a larger bust, choose pliable fabrics that stretch and don’t bind. Draping can be great but stay away from boxy shapes or too much fabric. Chest pockets pull the eye towards that area.
4. Layering is your ally. Try a tank paired with a shrug or cropped cardigan and high-waisted jeans- this makes for a sleek yet curvy style.
