I don’t know about you, but I often find myself rushing through day to day life without taking a moment to stop and live in the moment. Days are busy with many responsibilities, tasks, events, and family matters that sometimes can distract us from what is truly important about life. So, by the end of the day, when we are tired, and we may forget what our primary goals are. But it's a new year and we have the chance to create better versions of ourselves. Here are some everyday wellness tips for 2018 that will help you remain sane and healthy!

When You Wake Up - Meditate and Breathe

This year, make it a goal to set your alarm just a few minutes earlier than usual so that you have a few minutes to meditate and breathe. Take a moment and feel yourself inhale and exhale with the goal being to think about your goals and priorities and to calm yourself. This is also a great habit that will keep you on track to reach YOUR goals and to not get distracted by the daily chaos that sometimes takes over.

Stay Hydrated... Water, Water, Water!

Not only does water hydrate our bodies, keeps our skin healthy, and eliminates toxins, but it is necessary for us to be functional. Water helps keep our bodies cool, well-oiled machines. Don't forget to drink your water!


Take Mini Walks When You Can

Being Florida women, we have the power to get outside and walk a lot more than people who live in the northern states (especially at this time of year)! We are built to walk and move. And if you can't get outside to take a walk, try to take mini walks and move throughout your day. This is good for blood flow and for getting oxygen to your brain. Walking just a few minutes a day can also help you clear your mind.


Write Your Thoughts Down

Another way to take some time for yourself and recognize your priorities and goals is to keep a journal. This doesn't mean you have to write everything down daily or even weekly. But when you have time and you need to vent or strategize, it is healthy for the mind to write. Jot down a few thoughts that will motivate you. Write down a quote that inspires you. Write whatever your heart desires!
