Are you ready to get away on a spring vacation? I certainly am! I can pack for a week at a resort in my giant coral-colored tote by Big Buddha -- because I wear versatile separates from Anthony's, the women's fashion expert.
Here's how I plan a vacation wardrobe.
First, I head to Anthony's to check out the new merchandise and pick a "pop" color or two to brighten all of my basic separates. This year, I love aqua and coral. I bought an aqua scarf and a coral scarf at Anthony's, and I'm taking these everywhere I go.
Second, I decide on my base colors. Every versatile wardrobe is built around neutrals. So, my basics for spring include white bottoms and black bottoms.
The bottoms in my bag:
White Isadela Bermuda shorts
White Kristin Crenshaw slim pants and black Kristin Crenshaw slim pants
White capris in the fabulous "Bengaline" stretch blend from the Anthony's Resort Wear Collection
Third, I add basic tops to the four basic bottoms. I always take three print tops and three solid tops -- one white and one black lightweight tee with roll sleeves from Toni Morgan, plus a black Rafaella sweater with draped neckline -- and two airy cardigans to layer with everything.
I can throw my colorful scarves over endless combinations of these basics, slip on my gold platform sandals, and I can look festive and fabulous for a week.
With help from the Anthony's sales people, I've become a fashion magician.
LOVE FLORIDA TRAVEL?
Val's tip of the week: Take a spring break at Florida's most surprising hip destination -- St. Petersburg! St. Pete's got the coolest museum in the south, the Dali Museum. Plus, it's got the excellent Museum of Fine Arts, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. And the Dale Chihuly Museum. All along the beautiful bayfront. Your resort vacation wardrobe from Anthony's will surely turn some heads as you stroll along the water.
