10 Simple Ways Boost Your Health

Are you ready to boost your health for summer? After Memorial Day, especially, many Floridians and tourists will be out in the sun at the beach or pool. What could be better then to look and feel your best for these occasions? Whether you want to reduce stress, lose weight, or sleep better – here are 10 simple ways to boost your health.
The best thing about these tips is that they take less than five minutes a day to implement.
1. Keep a Journal
Studies have shown that taking a few minutes to jot down thoughts about your day is a great way to focus your mind on the good things in your life.
2. Practice Deep Breathing and Meditation
In our busy world, it is important to remember to stop and live in the moment. Deep breathing not only helps you to lower your stress levels and relax, but it has proven to help boost energy, improve circulation, and more.
3. Shop Online for Groceries
If you start to shop online for your groceries, this could save you stress, time, and money. It will also help you stick to your health goals by not overdoing it with foods that you may not necessarily want. It’s helpful for your budget because you probably will not impulse buy as much. Most grocery stores are on board with quick delivery policies, too!
4. Move More
Take quick five minute breaks and get out of your seat or off the couch. Sitting too much has proven to be bad for your health. Taking a break every 30 minutes to stand and move can help your health and bring you more energy.
5. Drink Lots of Water
Try trading out your drink of choice for water instead. It will help you to get rid of sugar and other ingredients your body doesn’t need.
6. Give Hugs to Family and Friends
Give hugs to your family and friends. Hugging has been shown to release oxytocin which enhances your mood, reduces anxiety, reduces inflammation, and more.
7. Get Rid of Clutter
Getting rid of clutter is a great way to relieve stress. This can also help with your home's organization - which in turn will improve your mood and mind.
8. Take the Stairs
Move your body. When you get the choice, decide to take the stairs. Make your body move daily, and you’ll increase your strength and health.
9. Go to Bed On Time
Setting a specific bed time will help your body regulate its sleep pattern. It’s easy to get caught up in TV shows, books, social media, family, etc., but setting a bed time for yourself will help to avoid feeling tired the next day.
10. Schedule "You" Time
Whether you take a bath, watch your favorite TV show, read a good book, or enjoy a walk before anyone else gets up - just make time for it! Doing the things that relax you and made you happy not only improve your mood, but also your health.
All it takes is a slight change of your daily routine - and you can improve your health little by little. Think about how much you can improve your health this summer! Now, that's a positive thought. :)
