Posted on 09 April 2018

At Anthony's Ladies Apparel, we want our clients to feel healthy and fabulous on both the inside and the outside. That's why we support healthy aging. Of course good habits like eating healthy food, managing health conditions, choosing the right medications, getting your yearly or recommended screenings, and being active all play a part in healthy aging. But a reminder never hurts! The FDA has tips to help you age fabulously.

Top 5 Healthy Aging Tips for Women

Eat Healthy Food

Mature women should keep in mind that good nutrition is especially important. That's because, as you age, you may be more susceptible to illness and/or food poisoning. That's according to the FDA. You should also be sure to eat a healthy, balanced diet.

Pay Attention to Your Medications

Of course, medicines can help to treat health problems and disease - if used correctly. But you need to be sure you are keeping track of your dosage and the instructions that come with it. If you take a medication infrequently or do not take the prescribed dosage, you can cause yourself serious health problems. Be sure to ask your doctor and pharmacist about your medical guidelines before taking any medication

Go to the Doctor

It is important that you work with your healthcare provider to manage health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis.

Don't Forget About Health Screenings

Health screenings are an important way to help recognize health problems. Be sure to ask your doctors which health screenings are right for you and find out how often you should get screened.

Exercise and physical activity can help you stay fit and strong. You don't have to go to a gym to exercise - you can do it at home or take a walk on your street! There are so many ways to stay active and to maintain movement throughout your day (especially here in Florida)!

Very good advice—yes exercise and walking are very important for you. Walking with your dog keeps you moving especially if the dog is a PUPPY!
